We have covered a piece of news about available emulators on the Apple App Store before. Today, another new one just came in called Folium which is an emulator for Nintendo 3DS games. It costs $4.99 (~RM23), though and requires iOS 15 and above to work.

At the moment, we can't find it on the Apple App Store for the Malaysian region. In the description, it reads Folium is compatible with Game Boy Advanced, Nintendo DS and other emulators. While there are already a number of emulators in the store, Folium is the first one to work with Nintendo 3DS games.

That said, sources say that the performance of Folium is "somewhat reduced" due to the iOS JIT (Just-In-Time) compilation support. It's more noticeable on older iPhones but if you have the latest iPhone 15 series, you should still be able to run Folium smoothly and play your favourite classic 3DS games.

On top of that, sources also say Folium is compatible with MFi game controllers. This includes the Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons, the Switch Pro controller, PS4/PS5 controllers, Xbox Series controller and even the Backbone One. Additionally, you still have to look for the games or ROMs by yourself.
