OPPO has always been one of the chinese manufacturers that dares to experiment new innovations. From rotating cameras to in-display cameras to sound, most of them have yet to be fully commercialised. Today, a new patent filed by OPPO has been spotted recently.
Accordion to the patent filed by OPPO Guangdong Mobile Communications Co., Ltd. It is for a “Screen Sounding Method, Device” which was first filed on July 23, 2018 and only got the approval on August 17, 2021 with the patent number CN109062536B. The device includes a screen capable of vibrating and sounding and an exciter for driving the screen to produce sound.
Basically, it is a device that will produce sound by using the screen without any sound producing devices such as speakers. And this patent is expected to be put into smartphones to produce their thinnest form factor. But there’s no solid proof that this will be coming onto the next OPPO phone yet for now.
