It was some time ago when AMD first announced the Radeon RX 5500 series of GPUs and it's taken a while for the desktop version to launch. But you don't need to wait anymore, because the Radeon RX 5500 XT has been announced. AMD intends for this to be a mid-range master, targeting gamers who want the better performance in 1080p gaming.

According to AMD, the Radeon RX 5500 XT GPU is optimised to provide up an average of 13% performance increase for modern triple AAA and esports games. In terms of tech specs, you're looking at 22 Compute Units, 4 or 8GB of VRAM, a boosted clockspeed of 1845 MHz, and up to 5.2 TERAFLOPS.

In terms of performance, it does better than an Nvidia GTX 1650, from what we see in AMD's slides. AMD also claims that you should be able to expect up to 60+ FPS for triple AAA games and up to 90+ FPS for esports titles. With the release of the new Radeon Software 2020 Edition, you can also expect to get some extra mileage out of the card.

At a suggested retail price of 169 USD (~RM700), the RX 5500 XT is actually pricier than a Radeon RX 580, despite not being significantly better . But if you buy one, you'd also get a copy of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Master Edition and a three-month complimentary access to Xbox Game Pass for PC, which is a great deal if you haven't gotten the game. Unfortunately, AMD did not confirm if this deal is available in Malaysia.
