This coming week on 17 November 2020, OPPO will hold its next Inno Day in China to showcase a variety of new technologies. The Find X3 series and 125W SuperVOOC charger will likely be showcased at this event, but another interesting product would be an augmented reality (AR) glasses.

OPPO uploaded the teaser announcement on Weibo, confirming that the AR glasses will appear during the event. At a glance, there's not much we can discern from the teaser. But if you brighten the image, you can see the faint outline of four lenses. The first generation OPPO AR glasses had the same setup, with one ToF lens to measure distance, one RGB Lens to capture the shape of objects, and two fisheye lenses for imaging.

OPPO's AR glasses from last year was bulkier

Of course, the new one differs in an immediately apparent way - the size. As you can see from the image above, the first OPPO AR glasses was much larger. The size of the new one means that you can't wear it over your normal glasses, but we're assuming that it would allow for eyeglass prescriptions, so it shouldn't be a problem anyway.

Obviously, we're just speculating here since we don't know the details on this new AR glasses. But it would be interesting to see companies can finally push the technology to a wider audience.
