ASUS ROG Phone 2 could be coming somewhere around Q3 2019

ASUS ROG Phone listed at ~RM3584 excluding VAT on a Finnish telco website

Based on a statement by digitimes.com, ASUS in partnership with Tencent plans to release the follow-up to the ASUS ROG Phone somewhere around Q3 of 2019. The decision to develop a sequel to the aforementioned gaming smartphone is due to the rise in popularity in mobile eSports over the years, thanks to title such as PUBG Mobile, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, and more.

Based on my predictions, the physical looks and dimensions of the device should look roughly the same as to maintain compatibility with the existing ROG Phone line of docks and accessories. That being said, I do expect the internals to receive an upgrade, such as a higher end chipset such as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, higher refresh rate display, or even a larger battery.

As for the price, it is highly likely that the "ROG Phone 2" will be priced similar if not, slightly higher than the first ROG Phone at launch. Do take every bit of information with a grain of salt as there was no official statement regarding the exact specs, release date and price of the product for now.
