ASUS has upgraded its gaming phone series by launching the ROG Phone 6 series today, bringing the standard ASUS ROG Phone 6 and a ROG Phone 6 Pro. The devices get powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, having a higher refresh rate and more. Let's continue reading to find out the other tech specs.
The ASUS ROG Phone 6 series sports a 6.78-inch Samsung AMOLED display with supports for a 165Hz refresh rate and 720Hz touch sampling rate. Under the hood, there's a dual-battery setup consisting of two 3,000mAh batteries that charge up to 65W. It's worth mentioning that the charging port gets placed at the side of the phone for easier handling when gaming and charging at the same time.
It has also brought along an improved cooling system with 360-degree CPU cooling technology. This time, ASUS places the processor in the centre and cools it from both sides using the Boron Nitride thermal compound. The company claims it allows CPU heat reduction up to 10 degree-Celcius. Other features of the devices include a triple-camera setup with a Sony IMX766 sensor, IPX4 splash resistance, up to 18GB of RAM and more.
The vanilla ROG Phone 6's price starts from RM3,599 for the 12/256GB configuration to RM4,399 for the 16/512GB trim. It will be available in two colour options - Black and White. The device will only go on sale in August in Malaysia. Meanwhile, the ROG Phone 6 Pro gets priced at RM4,999 for one 18/512GB variant and will enter the market in September. You may pre-order the ROG Phone 6 starting from tomorrow with freebies that include a warranty extension and an AeroActive Cooler.
