Key specs of the ASUS Zenfone 6 was revealed today by the Foreign Trade Association (FTA) while announcing the winners of the Design & Innovation Awards which happened to include the ASUS Zenfone 6. ASUS’s upcoming device is due to be revealed tomorrow, 16th May.
The most interesting feature about this device is the selfie camera. Unlike most companies who tried to remove or minimize the sensor via punch hole screens or pop up cameras, ASUS has instead taken a more interesting approach. The Zenfone 6’s selfie camera is housed in a rotating module which rotates upwards from the back, allowing the device a full infinite display with slim bezels. The rotating module is made with a material called liquid metal which lowers the module’s weight by 20% while increasing resistance. Users can manually adjust the module to suit their needs.

Now, the camera comes in a dual camera setup with a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor and a 13MP wide angle lens. Other notable features on this device includes glass protection on the front and back of the phone (with the front protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 6) and a rear mounted fingerprint scanner. In terms of tech specs, ASUS has hinted that the device may be released with a 5000mAh battery capacity when they threw shade at the OnePlus 7 on Twitter. Besides that, there’s also the Snapdragon 855 chipset and Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4.0 fast charge support.
In addition, we may find two colour variants for the device which are black and blue or silver and has been rumoured to retail at ~RM2680.
