The ROG Phone 5 launched here in March 2021 and it was one fancy phone, thanks to the RGB-lit logo at the back. At the time, ASUS also launched two other variants and we thought that was it. But it seems like the company has a new variant up its sleeve.
According to @chunvn8888, ASUS will launch the ROG Phone 5s on 16 August 2021. While we don't know what it would look like, the source did provide some tech specs. To begin with, the new variant is expected to come with a more powerful Snapdragon 888+ chipset. It'll also have two memory configurations: 16GB RAM + 256GB ROM or 18GB RAM + 512GB ROM.
According to my friend, August 16th is the release date of the ROG Phone 5s https://t.co/CZB0SwENAS

This is essentially a variant that will have similar specs to the ROG Phone 5 Pro and ROG Phone 5 Ultimate. In other words, it should have a 6000mAh battery, 65W fast charger, and a 6.78-inch OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. It's also expected to have a dual-speaker setup, rear triple-camera setup, 24MP front camera, and an under-display fingerprint sensor.
There aren't any details about price, but it should be more expensive than the Pro or Ultimate variants just because of the new chipset. Is that enough to convince you to get it over the previously launched variants? Let us know in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for updates.
