ASUS makes a comeback in the tablet space with the release of the ASUS Pad

ASUS had more than laptops or gaming consoles to show off at Computex 2026. The company also re-entered the tablet market after years of absence with the new ASUS Pad. This isn't some entry-level model either, as its specs position it in the mid-range category.

Tech specs and features

The ASUS Pad (T3201) houses a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 chipset, 8GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and 128GB/256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It also comes with a micro TF slot, which allows you to expand the storage by an additional 1TB. Although it's a rather large Android tablet at 12 inches, the ASUS Pad is slim (6.5mm) and relatively lightweight (523g). That's despite it housing a sizable 9000mAh battery.

Of course, the ASUS Pad's highlight feature has to be the 12.2-inch dual-layer OLED display. It has a 2800x1840px resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, a DCI-P3 colour gamut, and 600-nit peak brightness. Its high contrast and colour accuracy help enhance productivity on the go, especially when combined with some built-in ASUS features.

For example, the ASUS GlideX feature lets you share screens, transfer files, and manage multi-device workflows between the ASUS Pad and your PC. This means you can better streamline learning, content sharing, and multitasking across devices. You can also use Google's Circle to Search feature on the tablet, then quickly copy or transfer search results to your PC to fill in documents you're working on.
