Today, Acer announced the arrival of the new Nitro 14 and Nitro 16 gaming laptops, powered by AMD Ryzen 8040 Series processors with Ryzen AI. At the moment, the gaming laptops have yet to land in Malaysia so for now, here's what you need to know about the laptops.
Starting with the Acer Nitro 14 (AN14-41), it's equipped with up to an AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS processor with Ryzen AI built-in and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU with DLSS 3.5 technology. Users can also tap into the NVIDIA RTX AI ecosystem of computing, gaming capabilities, and accelerations, and utilize RTX Video that delivers AI upscaling and HDR visual quality.
Featuring a 14-inch WQXGA (2560x1600) display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, 9 ms response time, and sRGB 100% gamut support, the gaming laptop also has a dual-fan system with Vortex Flow that enhances cooling for the CPU, GPU, and other components. There is a wide variety of ports too, including full-function USB 4 and USB 3.2 Type C ports, dual Type A ports (one with offline charging), HDMI 2.1, and a microSD card reader. Other notable features include DTS:X Ultra Audio, plus Acer PurifiedVoice 2.0.
Next, the Nitro 16 (AN16-43) features up to the top-of-the-line AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS processor with Ryzen AI and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU, with support from DLSS 3.5 technology and the panel’s NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility. Like the Nitro 14, the Nitro 16 also has a WQXGA (2560x1600) display with 500 nits brightness, but with 16 inches, a 165 Hz refresh rate and 3 ms response time.
The Nitro 16 also has AI-related capabilities such as Copilot in Windows, Acer PurifiedVoice 2.0 and Acer PurifiedView. Of course, there is a dual-fan, quad-intake, and quad-exhaust cooling system to keep the laptop cool. It also comes with Wi-Fi 6E, dual USB Type C, three USB Type A ports, HDMI 2.1, and a microSD card slot to provide for all connectivity needs.

- The Acer Nitro 16 (AN16-43) will be available in North America in May, starting at USD 1,399.99.
- The Acer Nitro 14 (AN14-41) will be available in North America in May, starting at USD 1,299.99, and in EMEA in June, starting at EUR 1,199.
