Acer showed up at MWC 2016 showing the Liquid Jade 2, Liquid Zest and Liquid Zest 4G

The Acer Liquid Jade 2

Acer, one of the most well known computer hardware manufacturers were present at the MWC 2016 not showing new computers or laptops, but new smartphones instead. The three new smartphones called Acer Liquid Jade 2, Liquid Zest and Liquid Zest 4G. The Liquid Jade 2 has no pricing yet, but the Liquid Zest will start at €109 (around RM507) and €149 (around RM693) for the Zest 4G. Below are the tech specs:-

 

Acer Liquid Jade 2

  • Snapdragon 808 chipset with hexacore CPU
  • 3GB RAM
  • 32GB internal storage (microSD card slot available)
  • 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED screen
  • 21MP rear camera + 8MP front camera (has 84-degree wide-angle lens)
  • 4K video recording support at 30fps
  • Supports 3G, 4G LTE, WiFi and Bluetooh 4.0 connectivity
  • Android 6.0 Marshmallow

The Liquid Jade also supports the DTS Headphone:X sound enhancement and support for uncompressed audio, not to mention, DTS Play-Fi technology support is available too, which allows the phone to stream audio from any app or file to Play-Fi enabled speakers (including multi-room setups) by various manufacturers.

 

Acer Liquid Zest & Liquid Zest 4G

  • Mediatek MT6580 chipset with a quad-core 1.3GHz CPU (Liquid Zest) / MediaTek MT6735 with a quad-core 1.3GHz processor (Liquid Zest 4G)
  • 3GB RAM
  • 32GB internal storage (microSD card slot available)
  • 5-inch 720p AMOLED screen
  • 8MP f/2.0 rear camera + 5MP front camera
  • 4K video recording support at 30fps
  • Supports 3G (Liquid Zest), 4G LTE (Liquid Zest 4G), WiFi and Bluetooh 4.0 connectivity
  • Android 6.0 Marshmallow
  • Battery unknown

Both Liquid Zest models are quite alike including the specifications. Like the Liquid Jade, the two Liquid Zests also support DTS sound enhancements. The Zest 3G model offers DTS Sound Studio, while the Zest 4G features a DTS-HD Premium Sound. Both devices support DTS Play-Fi technology for streaming stream audio to Play-Fi enabled speakers.
