The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is not even released yet and this is our first news about the Galaxy Note 9Thanks to KGI Securities analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, we have new information about the phablet that it will come with an in-screen fingerprint scanner. But will it be too late?

As some of you already know, the so called in-screen fingerprint scanner was supposed to be featured in the Galaxy S8 series but it was a no show so hence, the oddly positioned fingerprint scanner beside the main camera behind. This applies to the Note 8, which is said to still have the same rear mounted fingerprint scanner, same goes to Apple for its attempt to integrate the fingerprint scanner embedded under the display in the upcoming iPhone 8 (rumours).

So far, only vivo has publicly shared their "success" of installing the fingerprint scanner underneath the display, called ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and rumours are heavily suggesting that the vivo XPlay 7 will be the first to have it, beating Samsung and Apple in the rat race. The smartphone scheduled reveal date is not known yet.

Before the Note 9 can have that technology, the Galaxy S9 series should be the first in Samsung's lineup to have it next year. But competition will be tough, as more smartphone manufacturers appear to be gearing towards a bezel-less display with an embedded fingerprint scanners beneath it.

So what do you think of the technology? Will the hype die down by the time Samsung introduces it next year? Stay tuned for more Samsung news at TechNave.com.
