Way back in March, Google confirmed that it's hard at work on the Nearby Sharing feature. As you may know, this is Google's answer to Apple's AirDrop feature. The company has now confirmed that the feature is now in beta and users who are interested can try it out.

In case you're not aware, Nearby Sharing is a feature that allows you to wirelessly share files between Android devices quickly and easily. You'll get to access the feature now if you opt-in to become a Google Play Services beta tester. Thanks to the folks at Android Police, we can see how the feature works and what its UI looks like.

Based on the screenshots revealed, you can enable Nearby Sharing via the settings menu or toggle it using a Quick Settings tile. Once you have, you can share files or links easily to people who are on your contact list. Those who are not on your contact list, though that requires you to make your device visible to nearby devices so that the sender can send things to you.

For those of you who are Google Play Services beta testers, have you managed to test Nearby Sharing yet? Let us know how it's working for you so far and what you think of it! And for more news on tech or the latest gadgets, stay tuned to TechNave.com.
