Not too long ago, the Malaysian government announced that it would be compulsory to use MyDigital ID to log in to the MyJPJ app. The date was planned for 10 October but after the disaster of server crashes, they decided to make a U-turn (for now).
Before the end of yesterday, our Transport Minister Anthony Loke told the media that MyJPJ users will no longer need to use MyDigital ID to log into the app, even after the 10th of October. He also emphasized that the pop-up announcement on the app was not official, so he ordered it to be removed immediately.
However, that doesn't mean the government is scrapping the plan entirely. Loke said the integration between MyDigital ID and MyJPJ will eventually come, but the process must be done seamlessly and convenient for users. Loke also added that the backend integration between both apps will take some time so don't expect it to be soon.
In case you missed it, many users tried to register for the MyDigital ID but the amount of visitors caused a server breakdown. Unsurprisingly, it didn't take long for them to complain or make memes online on Twitter X. Scrolling down the pages, many of them were met with blank pages or error messages.
