Apple Studio Display owners are facing issues updating the monitor to its latest iOS firmware

Owners of the new Studio Display by Apple are reporting issues with updating the monitor’s firmware to its latest iOS version, with some even being told by Apple Support to send their unit for repair. It is believed that this latest firmware update is to patch an infamous issue regarding the monitor’s below par webcam quality.

The issue was shared by several users on the official Apple Support forum, with many saying that they received an error message when trying to update their monitors. The error in question reads, “Apple Studio Display firmware could not be completed. Try again in an hour. If the problem persists, contact an authorized Apple service provider.”

Furthermore, according to several users, the problem still occurred even though they have wait a full 60 minutes for their next attempt. Besides that, some users said that the issue also persisted when they connect the display to another Mac or restart the monitor.

As reported by MacRumors, Studio Display owners are also complaining about the issue on the site’s forums. In fact, some were even told by Apple Support to send in their new monitors for repair.

In case you didn’t know, the Studio Display has an A13 chipset under the hood to help with performance. Hence, just like iPhones, users can update iOS on the monitor.
