According to The United States Trademark and Patent Office (USPTO), the board revealed an automotive technology patent obtained by Apple. Reportedly, this patent revolves around the design of a "digital license plate" system. If this is true, that means Apple is expanding its focus into the automotive business too/
Besides that, the system could include vehicle personalisation. Usually, we can see the use of bumper stickers and personalized license plate frames. If everything goes well, Apple could provide a more cost-effective and interactive solution for the license plate system.
Moreover, the board says this digital license plate system includes a license plate frame. Conveniently, you can adjust its size according to your needs. Plus, there could be a screen embedded in the license plate frame to display information. That includes the license plate number and vehicle registration expiration date.
In addition, the digital license plate could feature a built-in controller that can communicate wirelessly with external devices. That means you can control the display style of digital license plates through your iPhones. We have yet to confirm other details or the Malaysia release date on this feature. As of now, we can only wait for further confirmation from Apple.
