After what has been a long wait for fans, Apple finally launched its new MacBooks earlier today. But if you were hoping to get the older models for a cheaper price, you may be out of luck. If you try to shop for older MacBook Air models now, you'll find they are no longer available.
According to Wccftech, Apple has removed older Intel-based MacBook Air laptops from its website, leaving only the new Apple M1-powered model. A quick check on the Apple Malaysia website reveals that this is the same here, with only the new MacBook Air available from. Fortunately, you can still get Intel-based models of the Mac Mini and MacBook Pro.
The move isn't all that surprising, as Apple would want consumers to adopt models with its latest Apple M1 chip. On top of that, official prices for the Intel models were not reduced and are actually more expensive, so there's no real incentive to go for them. Removing the Intel-based models for the MacBook Air makes sense, as it is meant to be a more affordable MacBook.
The new MacBooks are currently unavailable in Malaysia, but you can check the Apple Malaysia website for prices and details. Would you be interested in buying one for yourself? Let us know in the comments and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more Apple updates.
