Apple may delay shipments of its mixed-reality headset until the end of 2023

Previously, we reported that Apple’s AR/VR headset is getting closer to release after the company has already gotten the name of its operating system, xrOS. However, it looks like there are still some “software-related issues” to be resolved as according to reliable tipster Ming-Chi Kuo, the mixed-reality headsets have been delayed to the second half of 2023.

Taking to Twitter, Kuo claimed that mass shipments of the headset will not begin until late 2023 and not in the first half of 2023 as he previously predicted. However, mass shipments of components for the headset would still start in early 2023.

Furthermore, Kuo said that Apple could still announce the high-anticipated mixed-reality headset in the first half of 2023 but only release the new product later that year. Besides that, Kuo also shared that Apple would only ship less than 500,000 units of the headset next year and that the product itself would be niche and super expensive.

Of course, do take this information with a grain of salt as nothing is confirmed as of yet. Well, the only way to find out is to wait until an official announcement by Apple.
