Apple might include a new USB-C to Lightning braided cable for the iPhone 12 series

Rumours about the iPhone 12 series are pretty wild, we learn that Apple could reveal four iPhone 12 models and an insane possibility that a charger won't come in the box at all. In this latest rumour, a Twitter user who goes by the alias of @duanrui1205 leaked that the iPhone 12 series would be equipped with a USB-C to Lightning braided cable in the box.

Should this so-called new cable be true, there are two ways of looking at this. On the bright side, the braided cable would definitely allow itself to sustain itself better in the long run as iPhone cables are notoriously known for wearing down after a few months. However, most iPhone users are using a Lightning to USB-A cable and not every one of them has a USB-C port. On top of that, first-time iPhone users who opt for the iPhone 12 would have to find new USB-C chargers for this which is a hassle, honestly.

Rumours about Apple switching to USB-C from Lightning have been going on for a long time now, as speculations are saying that eventually, this would come in full circle with Macbooks that are using USB-C ports as well. Of course, we should take this news with a pinch of salt and perhaps we could see that happening in 2021 instead of this year.
