Thought that the Mac Pro and the wheel kit was the end of the pro-grade stuff from Apple? Nope, Apple has released a new Thunderbolt 3 cable and its price tag is just as spicy. For interested parties, the Thunderbolt 3 Pro Cable fully supports the Thunder 3 specification and is now available for RM649 on the Apple Malaysia store.

"Wait, what? RM649 for a cable?" Yup, sounds expensive, right? Well, some may consider it a decent price, considering that the Mac Pro and Pro XDR Display you can use it with cost at least RM25999 and RM19999 respectively. If you're going to spend that much for a professional-grade workstation, an RM649 braided cable probably isn't that big of a deal.

The Thunderbolt 3 Pro Cable is capable of very fast data transfer speeds of up to 40 Gigabits per second, or 10 Gigabits per second if the device doesn't support Thunderbolt 3. It also supports DisplayPort video and 100W power delivery, allowing you to fast-charge the connected device. At 2-metres, the cable is of decent length and being braided means you can avoid cable tangle, which is always a good thing.

If you find that it's out of your budget, there's a shorter (0.8-metre) non-braided Thunderbolt 3 cable that cost only RM219, so you could go for that.
