There have been a couple of times that Apple releases an expensive piece of item (anyone still remember the cleaning cloth that cost RM99?). Well, Apple has made another surprise by partnering with Japanese design powerhouse Issey Miyake to launch the iPhone Pocket. As you can see from the images, it is a 3D-knit accessory that reimagines how users carry their iPhones.
Behind the Design
The iPhone Pocket features a unique open-weave 3D knit structure crafted in Japan by Miyake Design Studio, designed with a signature pleated textile aesthetic inspired by “a piece of cloth.” This flexible accessory stretches to accommodate any iPhone model, and also doubles as a pouch for small daily essentials.

Its flexible “pocket” also allows the user to see the phone’s display through the knit mesh while enclosing the device and contents, combining transparency with protection. Users can wear or carry it in multiple ways: hand-held, tied onto a bag, as a wrist-strap, or cross-body if using the longer-strap version.
Styles, Colours and Editions
The iPhone Pocket comes in two versions:
- Short-strap version: eight colour options (e.g. lemon, mandarin, purple, pink, peacock blue, sapphire, cinnamon-brown, black)
- Long-strap (cross-body) version: three colour options (sapphire, cinnamon, black)

Release and Availability
iPhone Pocket will officially launch on 14 November 2025 and will be available via Apple’s online store and select Apple Store locations globally, including France, Greater China, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, the UK, and the U.S. By the way, the short-strap version is priced at $149.95 (~RM690) and $229.95 (~RM951) for the long-strap version.
But Why?
This marks Apple’s first significant collaboration with a fashion house since its partnership for Apple Watch Hermès in 2015. According to the designers, the accessory embodies shared values between Apple and Issey Miyake: craftsmanship, minimalism, and joy, reinterpreting a “pocket” (or cloth) concept in a wearable way.
Will this iPhone Pocket ever come to Malaysia? We honestly have no idea. But we won't be surprised if it does one day. Until then, stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
