It was only yesterday that we reported Apple could be planning to expand its smart home devices. In another related news, the company may be preparing to introduce a dedicated gaming application for its ecosystem, connecting the iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV altogether.

According to TechRadar, this initiative aims to consolidate gaming experiences across devices, providing users with a centralised platform for game access and related features. It is reportedly expected to replace the existing Game Center, offering functionalities such as game launches, achievement tracking, leaderboards, and communication tools.

Additionally, it will feature editorial content and integrate with Apple Arcade, the company's subscription-based gaming service. The new gaming hub is anticipated to be unveiled at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June, with a public release projected for later in the year, coinciding with the launch of the next iOS update.

Apple has been getting into the gaming market bit by bit in recent years, by releasing AAA titles on its products with the likes of select Resident Evil titles, Assassin's Creed: Mirage and Death Stranding. We will wait and see how it turns out, so until then, stay tuned for our news coverage of WWDC in June.
