Earlier this month, we mentioned the Apple prototype computer being listed on auction in Boston. Today, the iconic computer has found a new owner. That said, what should you know about this computer?

For your information, this is also Steve Wozniak’s signed computer, also known as Apple-1. The computer has been restored to a fully operational state. It also comes with a custom-built case with a built-in keyboard. The auction includes Apple company check No. 2 signed by Jobs and Wozniak and dated March 19, 1976.

According to the check, US$116.97 was handed to Ramlor Inc, a circuit board maker. Experts believe this led to the production of the first Apple-1 computers. RR Auction also mentions that the check was expected to sell for US$50,000, but early bidding has already surpassed that total. Interestingly, the Apple-1 prototype was sold last year at $700000 (~RM3178000.00). Plus, about 200 computers were manufactured between 1976 and 1977 in Steve Jobs's garage in Los Altos, California. At that point, 175 were sold.

In this auction, the prototype Apple computer was sold for more than US$223,000 (~RM1.03mil). According to RR auction, it was purchased by a collector who wishes to remain anonymous. On top of that, an original handwritten advertisement for the Apple-1 Computer by Jobs sold for almost US$176,000 (~RM818,664) at the same auction.
