As you may know, Apple released the latest version of its mobile OS this week. This includes iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and tvOS 18. As you may know, users may see hiccups when a new OS update drops. For the iPadOS 18 update, it bricked some iPads so Apple removed the update temporarily.
According to MacRumors, the iPadOS 18 update was temporarily removed for the 2024 iPad Pro models with the Apple M4 chip. This decision was made after some users reported (via Reddit) that the iPad wouldn't turn on after the installation process. Essentially, the update bricked these iPads. Apple states that the issue only impacts a small number of devices, so the problem could be limited to the M4-powered iPad Pro.
It's speculated that the issue could be due to users installing iPadOS 17.7 before installing the latest iPadOS 18. Some users who experienced the same issue said they skipped the first update (iPadOS 17.1) and directly updated to iPadOS 18. Fortunately, users affected will have their units replaced by new ones.
Apple will probably have a fix within the next week, so we'll keep our eyes peeled for more updates. Until then, stay tuned to TechNave for other news like this.
