With the pre-order launch of the iPhone 16 series in Malaysia, Apple has also released the latest iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS 15 Sequoia, watchOS 11, visionOS 2 and tvOS 18. To update, simply enter your Settings, then General and tap on Software Update.
To refresh your memory, iOS 18 will have more personalised features such as rearranging your Home Screen (lol), Lock Screen and Control Centre. The Photos app also got redesigned to make it easier to trace back your old photos and new ways to communicate and express yourself in Messages. There are also new features for Maps, Wallet, Safari, Journal, Notes and others.
Alternatively, you may also see a new iOS 17.7 update on your iPhone which provides security upgrades. If your iPhone can upgrade to iOS 18, then you can ignore this. However, if your iPhone is not starting from the XS series (alongside XR), then you should get iOS 17.7. The iPhone SE 2020 and 2022 editions also support iOS 18.
Apart from personalising, a big part of the new software updates is none other than Apple Intelligence. However, not all of the Apple Intelligence features will be available, as it was reported that a few will only come after a period of time. Most features are shared across the different software upgrades in their respective platforms.
