Yesterday, it was revealed that Lossless Audio for Apple Music wouldn't work with Apple's audio devices. That's not something you expect from the company, so it's not surprising that something was up. It turns out that Apple might have a plan for that.
In the latest Genius Bar Podcast, Jon Prosser suggested that Apple might have an update lined up to allow its audio devices to do so. Specifically, the plan is to make it possible to play Lossless Audio via AirPlay. The reason for that is AirPlay connects to devices using a wireless connection, which has more bandwidth than Bluetooth.
Apple's AirPods don't support lossless audio...yet. Genius Bar episode 15 is out now, everywhere!

Also, Apple could be working on a new audio codec that would allow Lossless Audio to play through Bluetooth. If that's the case, we can expect this new format to be added to the company's new earbuds or headphones. For instance, Apple is working on a new Beats Studio Buds and it could be something that can play Lossless Audio.
Of course, all the above is speculation, so take it with a grain of salt. But what do you think about the news? Share your thoughts in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for more updates on it.
