According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will launch the next-gen iPad mini near the end of 2023 or in the first quarter of 2024. Kuo's information contradicts the previous rumours saying that the company will replace the compact-size iPad with a foldable tablet.
Kuo says the new iPad mini would feature a new processor as its "main selling point". Since the latest iPad mini sports a redesign with the best processor available, it's unknown how good the processor would be for the next one. It's even suggested that the upcoming iPad mini would feature an M-series chip, joining the iPad Air and the iPad Pro models to have a processor that makes them as powerful as the Macs.

Additionally, Apple is currently working on a new version of the iPad mini equipped with a new processor as the main selling point, and the mass shipment is expected to start by the end of 2023 or in 1H24.
As for the foldable iPad, Kuo says it's unlikely that Apple will replace the iPad mini with it in 2025. He claims that because "a foldable iPad will have a markedly higher price than an iPad mini, so such a replacement is not reasonable."
