Late last night, Apple unveiled the latest iPad mini out of nowhere and will be coming to Malaysia. For the time being, delivery and pick-up aren't available yet but the full price list for each model is online. The starting price begins at RM2,199.
In terms of tech specs, the iPad mini 2024 is powered by Apple's A17 Pro chipset, the same one that's on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Since it has the same chipset, that means the tablet will be able to use Apple Intelligence features. Sources have reported that Apple Intelligence should be arriving at the end of this month.

According to Apple, the iPad mini 2024 features a 100% recycled aluminium design and an 8.3-inch Liquid Retina Display with True Tone, P3 wide colour and 500 nits peak brightness. Meanwhile, the ultrawide front camera and wide back camera have the same 12MP sensor. The latter also has Focus Pixels technology, 4K video recording and can take images with Smart HDR 4.
Besides that, it's also worth mentioning that the new iPad mini supports Wi-Fi 6E. Wi-Fi + Cellular models also support 5G connectivity and can be activated with an eSIM as well. The USB-C port is now up to 2x faster than the previous generation, with data transfers up to 10Gbps. Of course, users can opt to get the Apple Pencil Pro as a separate accessory.
