Apple to stop prototyping and testing AirPower wireless charging mat

Apple AirPower is another Apple product that the fans haven't gotten the chance to get one until now since the rumour surfaced. Earlier this year, it was reported that the tech giant has resolved the heating issue of the charging mat and it's likely to be launched in Q4 2020 or Q1 2021. However, things might be changing right now with the same tipster saying that Apple has taken the product off the development list.

According to Jon Prosser, the same tipster who claimed that the company has resolved the heating issue, Apple has removed prototyping and testing of the product from their 2021's schedule. Not just removing it from the schedule, it is afraid that the company doesn't have any plan to revive the project again as well. Therefore, we think this is the time for the people who've been waiting for it to give up.

It is said that Apple will now focus more on the company's newly launched MagSafe for wireless charging products. Other than that, the company might also have lost appetite for developing the AirPower charging mat as other company like Samsung has launched such a product.
