Previously, we mentioned some popular songs might be unavailable on TikTok. Today, netizens found out that more songs are being taken off TikTok. That said, what should you know about it?

For your information, the Chinese company is being forced to take a lot of songs and music off its platform. The songs affected are linked under the UMG (Universal Music Group). That includes artists such as The Weeknd, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish and so forth.

Moreover, this change is caused by the royalty payment dispute between the two companies. Reportedly, the UMG (Universal Music Group) is unhappy with their cut of the deal. According to BBC, UMG removed around three million songs from TikTok after an agreement over its recording catalogue expired.

We have yet to confirm other details on this matter. However, it will be interesting to see how this change will affect content creators in Malaysia. As of now, this could be the best time for local music companies and producers to promote their songs on the app. Who knows? We might see more local music blowing up as part of the viral videos on TikTok.
