When Apple designed the iPhone 12 series, OLED panels from BOE was part of the plan. Things didn't quite work on at the time, but it seems like the company will be catching up at last. Sources claim that BOE is now back in Apple's plan and will help supply the Apple with OLED panels.

According to GSMArena, BOE has solved the quality control issues for its OLED panels. It's now set to become Apple's third supplier for OLED panels, with the other two being Samsung and LG. Industry analysts also estimate that BOE will supply up to 10 million units of OLED panels in 2021, while Samsung and LG will supply up to 130 million and 40 million respectively.

In other words, Apple plans to sell at least 180 million units of iPhone 12 smartphones in 2021, which is a considerable number. For BOE, the volume could increase to 20 million panels. If you look at the numbers being projected, it looks like a lot of companies are expecting production volumes to return to normal next year.

Well, higher volumes could mean lower prices and that's always good for us consumers. But with that said, what are your expectations for 2021? Let us know in the comments and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
