As the year 2022 closes to an end, Beam Malaysia is proud to announce that since its debut in Malaysia in 2019, there are now over a million trips taken this year. Compared with 2021, that's 2.5 times more than before.

According to the year-end report, Beam Malaysia registered over 80,000 new sign-ups, bringing the total pool of riders to 65% higher than it was in 2021. Moreover, over 100,000 of those trips were to move people to or from a public transportation facility like an MRT, LRT, or bus station. This is five times the increase compared to the year before as the workforce returns to the office after COVID-19 lockdowns.

Also over the past year, the company has been ramping up the deployment of new e-scooters in key areas around the nation. Over 3,500 e-scooters are deployed all over Peninsular Malaysia in Perak, Pahang, Johor and a wider coverage in Klang Valley to include neighbourhoods like Mont Kiara, Bandar Utama, Ara Damansara, Cheras, and more. Moreover, a total of over two million kilometres of Malaysians used Beam e-scooters instead of cars, preventing more than 486 tonnes of carbon emissions from releasing to the air.

Beam Malaysia noted that most of the Beam e-scooter riders are more prominent in the cities of Shah Alam (Selangor), Petaling Jaya (Selangor), Ampang Jaya (Selangor), and Kuantan (Pahang), thanks to the city councils fo providing the micro-vehicles. This applies the same to campuses such as Universiti Sains Malaysia (Penang), Universiti Teknologi MARA Seri Iskandar (UiTM Perak), and EduCity Iskandar (Johor).
