#CES2019 - Samsung investing in AI, IoT and 5G for its Connected Living vision

In another episode of CES 2019, Samsung Electronics has announced on their new vision - Connected Living. With its new theme, the company will be investing a lot on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) and 5G technologies for its future AI-powered robotics platforms, which can be used to manage activities of daily living.

To start off, Bixby, the company's AI assistant for mobile, will be infused into its 2019 QLED and premium TVs, and smart appliances like refrigerators, washers, as well as air conditioners, mobile devices, AI speakers, as well as expanding to a new Digital Cockpit and robotics platforms. This also includes Uber, Ticketmaster, iHeartRadio, Google and others to join the ecosystem in the future. In relation to that, Samsung is also committed to ensuring the algorithms it builds are inclusive, the protection of user information and privacy are top priorities.

On the other hand, Samsung is bringing its Bixby AI capabilities to driving. Known as the Digital Cockpit 2019, it offers users an enhanced connected car experience focused on connectivity, personalization, and safety. One example is drivers can check how much gas they have before going on a long road trip or set the car temperature before heading out for the day, as well as enjoy personalized screens on the rear seats and connect to In-vehicle Samsung DeX to get work done on-the-go and many more.

In terms of products, Samsung also unveiled multiple lineups. This includes:

  • 98-inch QLED 8K TV, as well as the 65-inch, 75-inch, 82-inch and 85-inch models embedded with the Quantum Processor 8K chip
  • Family Hub 2019 with a redesigned screen experience to allow family members to communicate
  • A new front load washer that can finish a full load in just 30 minutes via SuperSpeed feature
  • Notebook 9 Pro for modern professionals
  • Notebook Odyssey gaming laptop with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 20-series GPU
  • Samsung Space Monitor
