In this short news announcement, CIMB Bank has stated that starting 25 June 2025, the CIMB OCTO mobile banking app will require updated minimum operating system (OS) versions to enhance performance and security.
According to CIMB, the new minimum OS requirements are: version 10 and 15 and above for Android and iOS phones, respectively. Previously, the app supported Android 9 and iOS 12, but it wasn't too long ago in terms of years. With that, CIMB advises all users to update their devices to the specified OS versions or higher to ensure uninterrupted access to mobile banking services.
In other news, CIMB Bank also officially announced that, beginning Saturday, 17 May 2025, customers will stop receiving SMS notifications for completed transactions. Instead, these Post Transaction Alerts (PTA) will be delivered via the CIMB OCTO app. You can read more about it in our news coverage right here.
