Carl Pei teases Nothing Phone (2)'s starting price of ~RM3730, but it might just be a bluff

The Nothing Phone (2) is set to debut on 12 July, with a couple of its specs confirmed - Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and a 4700mAh battery. Now, information on its starting price may just be revealed too thanks to a tweet by the company CEO Carl Pei.

Replying to a tweet by @sondesix which claimed that the upcoming smartphone will start at EUR729 or ~RM3730 in Europe for the 256GB, Pei neither confirmed nor deny the claim. Instead, the Nothing CEO just replied with ‘who leaked this?’ followed by an angry emoji.

Of course, Pei might just be trolling with the reply, so do take the alleged price with a grain of salt. Should it indeed be at that price, this would mean that the Phone (2) would be considerably more expensive than its predecessor.

Sure, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 on the upcoming device is a step up from the Snapdragon 778G, but the price difference just doesn’t make sense. For reference, the Phone (1) was priced at RM2399 at launch in Malaysia for the 256GB variant.

Well, only one way to find out, which is to wait until launch day this 12 July. Until then, make sure to stay tuned to TechNave for more trending tech news such as this.
