Celcom networks first in Malaysia to go beyond 400Mbps with Lightning Fast LTE (LTE-A Pro and 5G)

Celcom Axiata Berhad have announced their Lightning Fast LTE network utilizing 4-transmit-4-receiver (4T4R) technology for 4x4 multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) mobile devices in Malaysia. The Lightning Fast LTE is the first in Malaysia to improve the current 4G mobile services with up to 300Mbps speeds to LTE Advanced Pro and eventually 5G networks, so you can go beyond 400Mbpps (up to 480Mbps). This will begin from August 2017, starting from the Klang Valley.

Celcom reiterated that there will be no interruptions to current networks with no plans to shut down 2G networks and they will try their best to ensure better stability by making the infrastructure ready. Devices that can support these networks like the Huawei P10 Plus or Samsung Galaxy S8 will be able to use Celcom’s Lightning Fast LTE up to 480Mbps come August 2017.
