Circle to Search will be exclusive to Google and Samsung devices...for now

If you've been paying attention to Samsung Galaxy S24 series news, you probably know about the new AI features. Among them is Circle to Search, which literally performs an Internet search for things you circle. But is this feature exclusive to the Galaxy S24 series?

According to Google, the answer is "Yes"... for now. The company has confirmed that Circle to Search will be an exclusive feature for Samsung and Google devices until September of this year. That allows selected Google and Samsung devices to have an exclusive feature for the next few months. However, other Android phones could get the feature as early as 5 October 2024.

Circle to Search has also been added to the Google Pixel 8 series, making the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro the other two devices with the new AI-powered feature. It should also feature in the Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Z Flip6, and Google Pixel 9 series phones. Currently, it's unknown which brands will support the feature after the exclusivity ends.

Looks like timed exclusivity could be how brands add value to their devices, at least for a limited time. But what do you think of the tactic? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
