Earlier this year, a new phone that most people didn't think would exist in 2026 appeared in the news. Unlike typical smartphones, the Clicks Communicator is built for distraction-free communication. Its physical keyboard is reminiscent of the old BlackBerry devices, which came with QWERTY keyboards.
That's right, the Clicks Communicator sports a physical QWERTY keyboard for a more tactile and faster typing experience, just like the BlackBerry phones of yesteryears. It also has a 4.03-inch touch display that should be large enough to read your messages and emails.
Details confirmed
Although the Clicks Communicator isn't available yet, the company has revealed some details about the phone. According to Droid Life, it's confirmed that the phone will ship with Android 17. That means you'll get all the latest Android features, likely even the Gemini AI updates announced at Google I/O 2026 this week. For reference, new features coming to Android 17 include Audio Mixer, Bypass Charging, Quantum-Ready Protection, and better storage management.
It was also announced that the Clicks Communicator would launch with a 4450mAh battery. That's larger than the initial announcement, which quoted a 4000mAh battery capacity. Sure, a 450mAh increase doesn't sound like much. Fortunately, it's plenty for a device that's expected to be more power hungry than regular smartphones.
Q4 2026 launch
In case you didn't know, the Clicks Communicator is expected to debut in Q4 later this year. The price was also revealed to be USD 499 (~RM 1981), but you can reserve one early for USD 199 (~RM 790). Mind you, this phone is unlikely to launch in Malaysia, so you might have to import it, which means added shipping fees.
