Previously, it was reported that Pebble's founder was looking for a comeback as an independent brand. While there's no official product yet, founder Eric Migicovsky managed to regain an important part of the original brand's identity.
"Pebble" trademark regained
According to 9to5Google, Migicovsky has regained the "Pebble" trademark for his new smartwatch company - Core Devices. In other words, the company's upcoming smartwatches will be called "Pebble 2 Duo" and "Pebble Time 2*". Previously, the two devices would have had the "Core" brand name instead.

Of course, the company's name will remain as "Core Devices". As such, there's a chance for other devices from Core Devices without the "Pebble" branding. Regardless, the company has already shipped some units to early "beta testers". A new Pebble app from Core Device has also been listed on the Google Play Store, although it is not yet accessible for download.
Global availability uncertain
Considering the company's current situation, the upcoming Pebble smartwatches will most likely be limited to certain markets. Will they ever make their way to Malaysia? That would be something to look forward to.
