Could this be the RedMi Note 5 on TENAA?

A brand new XiaoMi device has been spotted on TENAA which could very well be the highly anticipated Redmi Note 5.

According to the renders on the TENAA listing, the device codenamed MET7 and MEE7 appears to have a single main camera setup, a round fingerprint scanner and of course a full-metal back case; which is highly peculiar since most rumours so far has pointed out that the RedMi Note 5 will have a dual-camera. Maybe the dual-camera version is on a higher-spec RedMi Note 5 Pro?

Unofficial render of the RedMi Note 5

As for the listed specs (according to GizmoChina), the Redmi Note 5 is listed to sport a 5.99-inch TFT display with a 2160 x 1080p resolution and of course, the 18:9 ratio configuration. A 2.0GHz octa-core processor runs the show with a 12MP main camera and a 5MP front camera. Pretty standard so far for a mid-ranger but wait – the Note 5 is also listed with a whopping 4000mAh battery capacity and Android 7.1.2.

The alleged RedMi Note 5 is listed to come with different RAM and ROM configurations where it starts from a 3GB RAM and 32GB storage to 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. We’re also unsure of what chipset the Note 5 will have but it is reported to come with a Snapdragon 660 or a MediaTek Helio P25.

Unofficial render of the RedMi Note 5

Now now, just because it’s on TENAA doesn’t mean these are the real deal, for all we know it could be a whole different device in the end. However, since its already listed on here, you can expect the Redmi Note 5 to go official sometime soon.

There has not been any news of its official release nor a Malaysian release date so far but we had an alleged price list of the phone that was leaked awhile back which stated that the phone will start from 999 CNY (~RM633).

What do you guys think? Is this the Note 5 or what? Regardless if you do or not, make sure to stay tuned TechNave.com for more juicy updates.
