Details of AMD Zen 3 CPUs leaked, CPUs with up to 16 cores confirmed

Not long after benchmark of an alleged AMD RDNA2 GPU was found online, details of AMD Zen 3 CPUs were leaked as well. Sources claim that AMD's next-generation of desktop CPU would indeed come with SKUs with up to 16 cores and 32 threads. Not that there was any doubt on that!

According to Wccftech (via @CyberCatPunk), the AMD Zen 3 Ryzen 4000 series CPUs differ from the Zen 2 CPUs in that each CCD (Core Complex Die) comes with one Core Complex instead of two. However, we'll still be looking at top-end 16-core and 32-thread CPUs, while entry-level models will be 4-core parts. Moreover, the new CPUs are expected to have up to 512KB of L2 cache and 32MB of shared L3 cache.

Honestly, a lot of the details that regular PC users would be interested in - clock speeds and price - has yet to be announced yet. But there have also been rumours from last month that claim AMD has a Zen 3 CPU that has a boost clock of 4.9GHz. If that's the case, there could be a lucky Zen 3 silicon out there that could hit the 5GHz mark.

There's a lot of guessing and speculation in regards to AMD's new chips, but do take them with a grain of salt. Having said that, what kind of new features or improvements are you hoping to see from AMD Zen 3? Discuss in the comments below and do stay tuned to TechNave for future updates.
