Dimensity 2000 4nm chipset CPU specs confirmed

Earlier this week, there was a rumour that the MediaTek Dimensity 2000 chipset would consume 20% less power than the Snapdragon 898. Of course, no one knows if it's even as powerful, so the comparison feels meaningless. But we have some new details on its CPU.

According to Digital Chat Station, the Dimensity 2000 uses TSMC's 4nm process, which is why it's more power-efficient. More importantly, the CPU comes with one Cortex-X2 core (3.0GHz), three Cortex-A710 cores, and four Cortex-A510 cores. For your information, that's the same configuration that the Snapdragon 898 is expected to use. Besides that, the Dimensity 2000 will also have a Mali-G710 MC10 GPU.

In other words, you can consider the Dimensity 2000 on par with it. Except it has a lower power draw, which means that phones with this chipset will have better battery life. Having said that, it's rumoured that the Snapdragon 898 would run higher clocks (3.09GHz on Cortex-X2), so it should perform better than its MediaTek counterpart.

Once these new chipsets all launch, it'll be interesting to see how they compare to each other. Which chipset would become the preferred choice in 2022? Share your opinions in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
