If you recall, Instagram started working on direct posting from desktop browsers in May. Some beta testers got to access the feature in June, but since then we had no updates about it. Fortunately, the feature will be released soon.
According to TechCrunch, Instagram has announced that direct posting from a desktop browser will be possible starting 21 October 2021. Once the feature is released, you can upload posts or images from a desktop browser via the '+' icon. You can also determine the size or aspect ratio you want for an image, and add filters to it if you like.

Instagram is also expected to unveil a new feature this week called 'Collabs', which will allow a second user to co-author Feed Posts and Reels. Moreover, the company is allegedly testing a 'Fundraiser' option, as well as Instagram Stories that are longer than 60 seconds. The latter would be useful for those who don't want to break up their stories into multiple parts.
For Instagram users, it's nice to see all these new features being added. But is there another feature that you think the app needs? Let us know in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
