Based on testings done by DxOMark, the 5G variant of the Samsung Galaxy S10 series is currently the best overall smartphone in terms of image quality for the main camera and front-facing selfie camera, which scored 112 points and 97 points respectively while the Huawei P30 Pro managed to score similar points in the rear camera while the front-facing sensor scored lower at 89 points.
Not only that, but the test results shows that the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G does better in the video department with 100 points, scoring higher in exposure, colour, texture, noise as well as artifacts while the Huawei P30 Pro, which is clearly focused on photography, scoring a respectable 119
The improvement in image quality, particularly in video, is thanks to the inclusion of a Time Of Flight sensor at the front, as well as the rear of the device to improve the production of bokeh in the image due to the increase in depth sensitivity. Not only that, We suspected that Samsung has tinkered their firmware of the S10 5G to provide even better pictures, as compared to their S10 and S10 Plus. Samsung did not provide any comments on whether the firmware could be used in the non-5G variants in the Galaxy line-up in order to improve the picture quality of those devices.
