With something as serious as the coronavirus happening, it's important to know what news is legit or fake. Just two days ago, our own Ministry of Health sent out a list of the fake news that's been going around. In the same way, Facebook is taking steps to limit the spreading of false information.

According to Facebook, the company will be using its global network of fact-checkers to help check content on the platform and dismiss any fake ones. If a piece of content or info is found to be fake, the platform will limit its spread. Moreover, users will be sent accurate info from the fact-checkers.

In addition, the platform is supposed to send notifications to people trying to send unverified news and even remove the content if it has been proven to be fake. For example, if there is fake news that claims drinking bleach could cure the virus, that content would be removed as soon as it is found.

At this crucial time, it's very important to not spread any false or even harmful information. Facebook is doing its part and so must the public. If you've seen any of these fake news, remember to flag them! For other news and updates, please continue to follow us on TechNave.com.
