Facebook is now experimenting a 1-on-1 private messaging app for couples

In this Movement Control Order period, the usage of social messaging has increased tenfold (I'm just exaggerating, but you get the point) and it's also the perfect time to chat with your love interest (#hinthint). But prior to this, Facebook was working with NPE Team and just released a new app called Tuned strictly for couples. It's also only for iOS so nope, no Android version for that.

So how does this app work? First, the couple will have to add each other's phone number. Tuned functions like a digital scrapbook where the couple can share daily notes, pictures, card and voice clips with each other. Moreover, they can even send each other songs from Spotify and share how are they feeling if one of them needs a pick-me-up.

Since it's between two people, that means Tuned is a pretty private social app and no stranger can ever enter the space to be a "lightbulb". However, do note that since this is a collaboration between NPE Team and Facebook, that means the app allows the latter to collect some data for ad targeting.

At this moment, Tuned is only available in the US and Canada. Facebook have not confirmed if they plan to expand it to other countries but should the app underperform, the company would likely shut the project down. Personally, I think Tuned doesn't differ much from ordinary 1-on-1 room chats with your lover, but we shall see. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
