
Previously, we mentioned the leaked render for the Nothing Phone (2a). Unfortunately, this leak was proven fake. Well, technically. This is what you should know about it.
In an interesting turn of events, the leaked render is not intended to be the Nothing Phone (2a). It was a blueprint for a Nothing Phone that didn’t make the final cut. That’s why the “leaked” render looks very convincing.
In addition, Evan Blass (@evleaks on X) questioned the legitimacy of the render. That’s because it contrasted Nothing Phone (2a)’s vision of a redesigned camera island. When confronted with this question, Steve (aka @OnLeaks) admitted the render was a fake.
I'd be pretty skeptical of this alleged last minute redesign, for two reasons. Number one, it's not a standard Foxconn-sourced, CAD-based @onleaks leak, so his usual accuracy is not applicable.

So, you could expect the real Nothing Phone (2a) to look very different from the leaks. We have yet to confirm other details on the device or the Malaysia release date. As of now, we should wait for further confirmation from Nothing.
