Fan renders show floating display for Microsoft Surface Book Studio

Recently, we got the news that Microsoft might launch a new Surface laptop soon. It's allegedly going to be the successor to the Surface Book 3 but won't feature a detachable screen. Instead, sources claim that this model will have a floating display.

According to Windows Central, this laptop could either be called the Surface Book Studio or Surface Laptop Studio. Using patent designs for the device, a designer created fan renders to show what the device could look like. The device has a unique hinge that allows the display to 'float' away from the lid, so you can look closer at the screen.

Moreover, the hinge allows the device to switch into various form factors. Besides the special floating-display mode, you can also make it go flat and use it as a tablet. If these details are accurate, it would mean that this device will use a touch-screen panel. The renders also show that the device will be available in grey/silver and black colours.

Of course, these renders aren't necessarily accurate representations of the actual device. After all, these are based on patent designs, so the final product could look very different.
