The iPhone 16 series is launching soon next week, but sources have reported that the FineWoven protective casings have been removed and discontinued. True enough, we just checked the Apple Malaysia website and they aren't there anymore.
In case you didn't know, FineWoven cases didn't have a good start when the iPhone 15 series launched. While the intention of introducing FineWoven cases was good (being environmentally friendly), they get dirty and scratch easily if you're not careful. On top of that, they also get worn out quickly and there are no replacements for FineWoven materials.
Last year, Apple tried to defend itself by reminding customers that FineWoven cases' appearance will change and will wear out over time. The same goes for scratches and slight imprints which happen on leather cases. Well, the damage has been done and we aren't too surprised that FineWoven cases have been discontinued.
At the moment, the only FineWoven accessory that is still there is the iPhone FineWoven Wallet with MagSafe for RM279. Apple Malaysia also replaced all the FineWoven ones with new Silicone and normal cases with Magsafe. There is a wide variety of colours and designs to choose from, so do check it out here if you're interested.
