Last week, renders of a new fitness band from Fitbit appeared online. An ad for the Fitbit Charge 5 then leaked a few days ago, so it was evident that the company planned to launch it soon. In fact, the new device was officially unveiled yesterday.

While the Fitbit Charge 4 wasn't as impressive as fans expected, the Fitbit Charge 5 promises a slew of upgrades in tech specs and features. It comes with built-in GPS and GLONASS trackers, a 3-axis accelerometer, EDA sensor, infrared sensor, and more. As previously revealed, the biggest change with the new model is that it has a full-colour 1.04-inch display that's shielded by Gorilla Glass 3.

The Fitbit Charge 5 can track your location, heart rate, sleep pattern, blood oxygen level, and more in terms of features. It's also got a battery life of up to 7 days, depending on how you use it. As for the bands, you have the option of silicone bands, sport bands, nylon loop bands, and hand-crafted premium Horween leather bands.

The Fitbit Charge 5 can now be pre-ordered for RM878 but is only expected to be available on 4 October 2021. What's great is that you get 6 months of free premium membership upon pre-order or purchase. Interested in getting one for yourself?
